Sona Masuri rice is called Bangaru Theegalu (meaning Golden Ivy). it is mainly cultivated in Andhra Pradesh districts Krishna, Guntur, Kurnool, Nellore, and West Godavari . In Telangana it is mainly cultivated in the Mahaboobnagar, Nizamabad, and Warangal. In Karnataka, it is mainly cultivated in the Raichur, Koppal and Bellary, Belagavi districts. Sona masuri rice is medium grain premium quality rice, light weight and aromatic. It contains less starch so easy to digest.
Tarawadi Basmati rice is a variety of long grain rice is famous for its fragrance and delicate flavour. Tarawadi basmati rice cooked grains swell in both length and width and are dry, separate and fluffy.
